The newly launched 14-inch Apple MacBook Pro with the standard M4 chip has been revealed to have a larger battery capacity, although its design remains unchanged. This new model is equipped with a 72.6Wh battery, which is about 5% larger than its predecessor, offering up to 24 hours of claimed battery life.
Apple claims the M4 MacBook Pro has the longest battery life of any MacBook model, surpassing even the MacBook Air lineup. A key factor in this enhancement is the larger battery cell compared to the previous M3 version, which offered up to 22 hours of usage.
Interestingly, despite the larger battery, Apple managed to keep the MacBook Pro’s design the same. No internal changes were made to the layout, cooling system, or speakers. The laptop still measures 1.55 cm thick and weighs 1.6 kg.
The extended battery life is also thanks to the M4 chip’s improved power efficiency. However, the more powerful M4 Max version has a slightly shorter battery life, around 18 hours, as it naturally consumes more power.
