Alongside the new iMac featuring the M4 chip, Apple has officially launched an updated Mac Mini powered by the same M4 processor. This compact device is even smaller than its predecessor and, like Apple’s other latest products, is reported to support Apple Intelligence capabilities.
In terms of dimensions, the new Mac Mini measures 5 x 5 inches, making it more compact than the previous model, which was 7.5 x 7.5 inches. Despite the smaller size, Apple assures users that its performance remains uncompromised.
Mac Mini M4 Specifications
The latest Mac Mini is available in two configurations: the M4 and M4 Pro variants. The M4 Pro model features a 14-core CPU, a 20-core GPU, and up to 64 GB of RAM, while the M4 version comes with a 10-core CPU, a 20-core GPU, and up to 16 GB of RAM. Both models support hardware-accelerated ray tracing.
Apple claims that the M4 variant delivers up to 1.8x CPU performance and 2.2x GPU performance compared to the 2020 Mac Mini with the M1 chip.
For connectivity, the M4 Pro version includes two USB-C ports on the front, three Thunderbolt 5 ports on the back, an HDMI port, and an ethernet port. This marks the first time a Mac Mini is equipped with Thunderbolt 5, enabling data transfer speeds up to 120 Gb/s—twice as fast as the previous model. Meanwhile, the M4 version includes similar ports but retains Thunderbolt 4.
The M4 Mac Mini starts at $599, while the M4 Pro version is priced from $1,399. Both models will be available for purchase in select regions starting November 8.
