As 2024 draws to a close, news has emerged about Google developing an AI agent that may operate users’ PCs automatically, completing a variety of tasks without human intervention. Could this be possible?
Could Google Really Be Creating an AI That Operates PCs Automatically?
Artificial intelligence (AI) is far from its peak and appears poised for even more rapid growth in the future. Google is reportedly developing an AI agent under the codename “Project Jarvis,” according to The Verge.
The AI agent in development is said to handle various tasks users typically perform, such as gathering information on specific topics, making purchases, and even booking travel tickets, as leaked by undisclosed sources.
This Project Jarvis is believed to use a more advanced AI than Gemini and operates entirely through a browser, specifically Google Chrome, aiming to simplify daily routines. The agent can interpret screenshot content, automate clicks, and even input text.
Interestingly, this Google project is matched by OpenAI’s latest technology, called the Computer-Using Agent (CUA), which offers a similar functionality to “Project Jarvis.”
However, while Google’s AI promises convenience, users must consider potential risks, particularly around privacy concerns. This technology could signal the start of Google gaining broader access to users’ devices.
The convenience offered by Google’s innovation might continue to evolve, but if it requires sacrificing privacy, would you still use it?
