While sales milestones like this are often associated with Xiaomi, it’s not something you usually see from Vivo. Last year, Vivo proudly announced that it had surpassed 1 billion yuan in sales shortly after the Vivo X100’s release. This time, however, the company’s numbers have significantly grown.
As posted on Weibo, Vivo announced on October 19, 2024, that the Vivo X200 series had generated over 2 billion yuan in revenue, equivalent to $280 million.
Vivo Overtakes Xiaomi and Samsung
This achievement is even more impressive given that, so far, the Vivo X200 and X200 Pro are only available in China. The smaller Vivo X200 Pro Mini will be released on October 25. Nonetheless, specialized importers are already offering the X200 series worldwide, and a broader global release seems likely for the X200 and X200 Pro models. Interestingly, according to Canalys, Vivo recently claimed the top spot in smartphone sales in India, surpassing both Xiaomi and Samsung in the previous quarter.
Vivo X200 Ultra: Early Information on the Zeiss Camera
Although the Vivo X200 Ultra’s global debut might be some time away, there’s growing anticipation surrounding its Zeiss-enhanced cameras. In a recent interview, Vivo executives confirmed that the X200 Ultra would be released in 2025. Shortly after, the well-known Chinese leaker, Digital Chat Station, provided some details about the new flagship’s camera system.
According to his Weibo post, the Vivo X200 Ultra will feature a 200 MP telephoto lens in its triple camera setup, similar to its predecessors. However, unlike previous models powered by the Dimensity 9400 chip, this one is expected to run on the Snapdragon 8 Elite. Other advancements, such as the V4 ISP, improved Zeiss optics, and additional customized enhancements, are anticipated, though specifics remain unclear at this point.
