Samsung has started preparing the Galaxy A36 as the successor to the Galaxy A35, which was released last March. The device was recently spotted on Geekbench, revealing several key specifications.
One of the most interesting aspects is that the Samsung Galaxy A36 will run on the new Android 15 version. While Android 15 has just been released by Google for the Pixel series, Samsung is expected to roll it out next year alongside the Galaxy S25 Series.
This suggests that the Galaxy A36 may be launched early next year, following the release of Samsung’s flagship series. Like the Galaxy A16, the Galaxy A36 is also expected to receive OS updates for up to 6 years.
The Geekbench listing also revealed that the Galaxy A36 is equipped with an octa-core CPU, featuring 4 cores at 2.4GHz and 4 cores at 1.8GHz. The device scored 1060 points in single-core performance and 3070 points in multi-core performance.
The Galaxy A36 is expected to be powered by the Adreno 710 GPU, which indicates that the SoC could be either the Qualcomm Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 or Snapdragon 7s Gen 2. These are 4nm chipsets from Qualcomm that support 5G connectivity.
This would mark a shift from the Exynos 1380 chipset used in the Galaxy A35 to a Snapdragon chipset for the Galaxy A36. We look forward to more details about the specifications of this new mid-range smartphone from Samsung.
