Konami Announces Open-World Action Game ‘Edens Zero,’ Coming in 2025

During the recent Xbox Partner Showcase, Konami thrilled anime and gaming fans by unveiling a new action-RPG based on Hiro Mashima’s popular series, EDENS ZERO. Scheduled for release in 2025, the game will be available on Xbox Series X|S and PC, with plans for other consoles as well.

This upcoming EDENS ZERO game offers players the chance to “relive the manga’s storyline” as they embark on an adventure across the vast Sakura Cosmos.

The game is a 3D open-world action RPG that follows the epic journey of Shiki Granbell and his friends, allowing players to explore various planets filled with dangerous enemies and iconic characters from the series.

As an action-RPG, the game lets players control multiple characters, each with their own unique abilities. From fast-paced combat to a deep narrative, EDENS ZERO promises an exciting blend of immersive storytelling and thrilling gameplay.

Players will travel to different planets, battle powerful foes, and search for a cosmic entity known as “Mother”—a key figure in both the manga and anime adaptation.

Hiro Mashima, the mastermind behind EDENS ZERO and other well-known works like Fairy Tail and Rave Master, has been actively involved in the game’s development.

According to Konami, Mashima’s input has shaped the gameplay elements, design, and storyline, making it a faithful adaptation of the beloved series.

This isn’t the first time Konami has teased a game adaptation for EDENS ZERO. In 2020, the company announced plans for a 3D action RPG based on the series during the Tokyo Game Show, but further details remained under wraps until now.

The announcement at the Xbox Partner Preview confirms that the project is well underway and is expected to be one of the most anticipated anime-based games in 2025.
