ASUS has officially announced the global launch date for the ROG Phone 9 Series, set to take place on November 19, 2024. This gaming smartphone will be powered by the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite flagship chipset, and interestingly, rumors suggest that the ROG Phone 9 Pro variant will sport a display with a staggering 185Hz refresh rate!
This impressive specification will enable the ROG Phone 9 Series to set a new world record, marking the first time a smartphone display has achieved such a high refresh rate of 185Hz with LTPO technology. For context, the previous ROG Phone 8 Series featured a refresh rate of 165Hz.
In addition to its high refresh rate display, the ROG Phone 9 Series will be equipped with cutting-edge cooling technology designed to keep the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset cool, even during intense gaming sessions. This new Qualcomm chipset boasts an exceptionally high clock speed of up to 4.32 GHz.
Moreover, the ROG Phone 9 Series will include AI features aimed at enhancing the gaming experience, aligning with its tagline, “AI On, Game On.” As for the design, it appears there won’t be significant changes from the ROG Phone 8 Series, although the AniMe Matrix—an LED feature on the back panel—will undergo some modifications.
In even more exciting news, ASUS is reportedly working on a more budget-friendly gaming phone, the ROG Phone 9 FE. However, it remains unclear whether this model will be unveiled alongside the main series on November 19, 2024. We’ll have to wait for the official announcement!
