As a relatively new player in the mobile industry, Nothing has quickly gained traction among gadget enthusiasts. The primary reason for this popularity is the brand’s focus on unconventional designs that stand apart from the typical smartphones on the market today.
In addition, Nothing has actively collaborated with its community to introduce fresh and innovative concepts. The latest result of these collaborations is the special edition Nothing Phone 2A Plus, which features a unique glow-in-the-dark capability.
Nothing Unveils the 2A Plus Phone that Glows in the Dark
Not only does the Nothing Phone 2A Plus Community Edition showcase a distinctive Glyph interface, but it also comes with an unusual gimmick. This phone includes a glow-in-the-dark feature that activates under UV light.
Previously, Nothing held a contest for its community, inviting them to pitch ideas for a new smartphone. This initiative paved the way for the Community Edition, which is limited to just 1,000 units worldwide.
According to The Verge, around 900 entries were submitted by community members, and Nothing allowed creators significant freedom in presenting their custom designs.
To create the glow-in-the-dark back cover, they used phosphorescent materials that enable it to shine for hours after exposure to ultraviolet light.
Limited Availability
Despite being a unique product, the special edition Nothing Phone 2A Plus will only be sold in a small quantity—exactly 1,000 units will be made available. The phone is set to go on sale starting November 12, both at the Nothing Store and on their official website.
This release reflects the brand’s dedication to artistic expression, as there are no major changes in terms of specifications. So, are you interested in purchasing this phone? If so, be prepared both mentally and physically for the release date!
